City of Tagum receives funds from Pantawid Pasada Program

City of Tagum, Davao del Norte – City Mayor Rey T. Uy happily receives the four hundred seventy two thousand five hundred (P 472,500.00) pesos from the Financial Assistance re: Public Transport Assistance Program (PTAP) of Government’s Pantawid Pasada Program of the Aquino Administration on May 23, 2011 at the Office of the City Budget which was turn-over by DILG Disbursing Officer Representative Allet Mae P. Operiano from the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) in Region XI.

The fund is initially released as cash assistance under the Pantawid Pasada Program to the three thousand one hundred fifty (3,150) registered tricycle operators in this city. Present during the turnover is City Administrator Rafael E. Abrenica, City Treasurer Edgar C. de Guzman, City Budget Officer Dean C. Briz and DILG City Director Eliza P. Mendoza.

According to Director Mendoza, the task of providing this transport assistance to registered tricycle operators in Tagum and the rest of the country is given to DILG in coordination with the Local Government Units (LGU’s) as mandated under Executive Order 32 instituting the Public Transport Assistance Program (PTAP) duly signed by President Benigno Simeon C. Aquino III on April 1, 2011.
 
She further revealed that the above-mentioned registered tricycle operators coming from the 23 barangays in this city can receive a cash assistance amounting to P150.00 each, provided that each operator shall complies necessary requirement such as execution of Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between DILG and Local Chief Executives (LCE’s) as stipulated in the implementation guidelines.
