Four LGUs learned from Tagum’s Best Practices on Economic Enterprises

September 22, 2010, City of Tagum Chief Executive Mayor Rey T. Uy and City of Tagum
Economic Enterprises General Manager Lowell C. Brillante welcomed the
Government Officials and the whole delegation coming from different LGUs: Kumalarang
of Zamboanga del Sur, Kapatagan of Lanao del Norte, Kabacan of North Cotabato
and Alegria of Surigao del Norte.
The main objective of four
different Local Government Units primarily focused on the study of Tagum’s
Economic Enterprises Operations and Maintenance of Tagum Overland Transport
Integrated Terminal (TOTIT); Economic Enterprise Management Arrangements, and
the Manpower for Managing Economic Enterprises in terms of the Systems and
Procedures (The 2007 Revenue Code of Tagum City Economic Enterprise).
Renowned for being
self-sufficient, Tagum’s publicity on the best operations of Economic
Enterprises has enticed these LGUs to become self-sufficient and independent
from the IRA allotment.
The timely visit of the said LGUs
had particularly streamlined their Four Days Training Workshop from September
20 to 24 on Subproject Operation and Maintenance (SPOM) for Transport Terminal
who have availed the financial and technical assistance from the Mindanao Basic
Urban Services Sector Project (MBUSSP) for the construction of transport
terminal through the Office of Project Development Services (OPDS) held at
Grand Regal Hotel, Lanang, Davao City.
