Tagum strengthens health campaign

Strengthening its advocacy on the
massive campaign of health awareness under Mayor Rey Uy’s leadership , the City
Government of Tagum launches Operation Uy! GANDA (Gawin Araw-araw Nutrisyon ni
baby Dapat Alagaan) at the multi-purpose gym of Barangay Visayan
Village on August 19,
2010.
Punong Barangay Hon. Ronald Eliot was grateful for the event as his
constituents were the ones who first benefited the health program. It has been
noted that City Councilor Oyo Uy wanted to have the massive implementation of
the program in all barangays of the city through proper budget planning as he
is the one handling the committee on finance.
Nutrition Action Officer Coun. Joedel Caasi stressed his concern for children’s
nutrition when he also dubbed the event “Bata bata timbang tingnan”. With the
supervision of a doctor-legislator Coun. Oca Bermudez handling the committee on
health, assured that the medical for pregnant women, dental for pupils of day
care centers, and the feeding of malnourished children are properly
implemented.
With the presence of the mascots of Jollibee and Dencio, the event became more
memorable for the attending children and mothers.
