Mayor Uy removed cables and telephone wires for public safety

The Tagum City Task Force Lawa-Lawa (cobwebs) headed by Local Chief Executive Mayor Rey T. Uy, in coordination with the City Engineering Office of Electrical Section led by Engr. Constancio M. Alban, with the assistance of Davao Del Norte Electric Cooperative (DANECO) personnel, have jointly removed all cables and telephone wires in violation of public safety strengthened by Executive Order (EO) No. 26-2009 known as "Task Force Lawa-Lawa to Streamline Cable/Telephone/Electric Posts and Wiring Installation/Connection in the City of Tagum.” City Ordinance No. 63, s-1999 orders all communication carriers and operators that they have to install guy insulators of adequate design on its guy wires and shall string its wires and secure its cable to attach its fixtures in a manner as to cause minimum interference to the services of others and allow maximum safety to the public. Mayor Uy reported to the media that since the local statute was implemented, “wala ko nag kulang to all providers and operators in informing them about putting up their cables and wires in the right place in a well-arranged installation and connection in posts”. Mayor Uy added that it is not the first time but the second time that he made this Task Force Lawa-Lawa effective in its operation in removing the wires and cables.
