Helping the less privilege like our early
settlers is one of the top priorities of the present administration
under the leadership of Mayor Rey T. Uy.
Spearheaded by Datu Rudy T. Onlos, The Tagum City Federation of
Barangay Tribal Council Incorporated was formally established
and organized way back 2002. From the initiative and deep concern
of Vice Mayor Allan Rellon, he organized the first ever One (1)
Day free dental. pre-natal, circumcision, medical check-up and
minor operations dubbed as, "Handog para sa mga tipanod (original
settler) with the cooperation of 1001st Infantry (PAG-ASA) Brigade
/ 10th Infantry (AGILA) Division Phil Army, A.O. Floirendo Foundation
Inc., City Health Office, National Commission on Indigenous People
(NCIP), and CAO/PESO Office last March 28, 2007 at Tagum City
Freedom Park.
The City Tribal Council and its members were grateful for the
undying support of our Local Government Unit, most specially for
providing social services that caters about 500 tribal beneficiaries
during the medical mission.
Along this line, it only proves that the dominant tribe of this
city is near to the heart of the present administration. They
vitalized our plights and aspirations, enrich our lives, uphold
our rights and increase the power of alacrity. Touching one heart
of the Lumads in a manner of giving unusual treatment will somehow
contribute satisfaction to all tribal communities. Even a simple
"hi" will make us contented, a reason why we are distinct
to one another.
To all those in one way or another have contributed to realize
our dreams, A MILLION THANKS! No words can explain how happy and
lucky we are.
