Official Guidelines and Mechanics of the Competition:
1.The Avenida Musika is a music avenue cum competition performed by all brass bands in Mindanao.
2.The competition shall be judged in three (3) following contexts:
2.1. marching parade – city's main streets
2.2. symphonic presentation - park side streets
2.3. showdown/fancy drill - freedom park
3.The competition is open into two (2) categories:
3.1. high school based category
3.2. semi-professional or composite open community based category
4.Requirements for participation on this competition are the following:
4.1. high school based – not less than 40 instrumentalists/players
- not less than 30 movers/majorettes or flag bearers
4.2. semi-professional- not less than 30 instrumentalists/players
- not less than 20 movers/majorettes or flag bearers
5. The time allotment provided per performances in accordance to its context:
5.1. marching brass band parade in cadence – 10 minutes
5.2. stationary symphonic music performance - 10 minutes
5.3. fancy drill/showdown performance - 15 minutes
6. The use of sets are allowed but not encouraged.
7. Huge sets and props that could not be carried by 4 persons are strictly not allowed during the showdown/fancy drill.
8. Incorporation of deadly and dangerous acrobatic acts and stances are strictly not allowed considering that the performing area is a cement.
9. Any group who may design to have a dangerous acts shall use a safety precautions and equipments and shall sign waivers during the briefing period.

Best in Costume P10,000.00 + certificate P10,0000.00 + certificate
11. The official criteria for judging shall be based on the three (3) context of performance to determine the grand winners and each context shall be judged on the following basis:

12. The competition date shall be on Sunday, February 23, 2009 at 9:00 AM at the Rotary Park, Pioneer
Avenue, Tagum City, Davao del Norte, Philippines.
