Historical Background
Early settlers in the barangay were coming from Cebu and Bohol. It was the time were the place called “Bangka-banka-an” and after the Second World War there was a Tenyente del Barrio in the named of Tenyente Roque Olivar.

The name Nueva Fuerza was derived from the Spanish term and interpreted by a native in the barrio as “Bag-ong kusog”. This was also named by the former municipal Mayor Manuel Suaybaguio. It was also that time, barangay Nueva Fuerza was created through a declaration dated August 10, 1947.
