City of Tagum, the capital of the province of Davao del Norte was officially created into a component city on March 7, 1998. Situated 55 kilometers north of Davao City, it is one of the fastest growing cities in Region XI. It has a total land area of 19,580 hectares. In a study conducted by the Asian Institute of Management, Tagum was ranked among the 20 most viable component cities to do business in the country.
